Hawkes Bay Technologies Gentle Annie Bike Ride- Saturday 23th March 2019

 

Welcome the Hawkes Bay Technologies Gentle Annie Bike Ride.

This edition will be the 8th edition of iconic ride from Taihape to Hastings, travels the length of the Gentle Annie road, unsealed until 2011.

 

Featuring 2500m of ascents, it is the hilliest one day ride in New Zealand, with epic ascents, and breathtaking decent while traveling through stunningly beautiful countryside, as it winds it’s way through high country sheep stations to finish outside Roosters Brewery in Hastings.

 

Early Bird Entries until 1 October 2018 $70

Entries from 1 October to 1 March $90

Late entries after 1 March $110

Your event timeline:

REGISTRATION:  Friday 22th March 4-6pm at Roosters in Omahu Rd Hastings.  This is also when you drop your bike off if you have selected the transport option. 

If you are unable to come to registration at that time, please contact us for other options .  

RACE DAY Saturday 23rd March                     

6:10am    Assemble at Roosters in Omahu Rd Hastings and check in for transport     

6:15am    First transport van leaves for Taihape, early start riders need to be on this bus.

6:45am    Second  and third transport vans leave for Taihape       

9:15am approx race briefing for early start riders.       

10:15am   Race briefing - all riders must attend     

10:25am All riders travel together along Huia St and assemble on Hautapu St before start     

10:30am   Gentle Annie starts for all riders    

2:15pm approx.  First riders finish       

2:30pm onwards  Meal available for all riders - please bring your race number  

4:30pm approx.  Last riders finish       

4:30pm approx.  Final results, category placings and podium photos for grades.

ABOUT RAMBLERS:

Ramblers Cycling Club is one of New Zealand's largest & oldest cycling clubs with roots dating back to the 1890s.
We have more than 300 members from all over Hawke's Bay.
Ramblers Cycling Club races cater for almost any ability with seven grades (A-G) so people can ride with others of similar ability & fitness.
Weekly Saturday club races operate year round, rain or shine & often attract more than 120 riders. Ramblers have a great reputation for running successful events.
Our varied race programme includes road races, time trials and criteriums   & mini tours.

Visitors are especially welcome. No need to book, just come along to the next club race we would love to see you there!
Ramblers Cycling Club also runs major events each year and sometimes runs national events.
Ramblers Cycling Club does not organise training rides but there are many different groups of members who train regularly on Sundays. These rides welcome riders looking for some company or motivation.More details here.
